Payroll and Accounts Officer!!

We are currently searching for a self-starter, hands-on, can do, savvy, experienced and suitably qualified Payroll and Accounts Officer to manage the interface of payroll processes and the day-to-day administration of accounts and associated processes. 

Responsibilities includes:

  • Facilitate the internal accounting and book-keeping function, ARAP and invoicing.
  • Assist the Administration Manager, as required, to deliver the administrative requirements of Eastern Guruma’s strategic development and annual business plans.
  • Facilitate claims relating to financial matters.
  • Creditors and debtors administration.
  • Facilitate all payroll interfaces, whether outsourced or in-house, including PAYG, SGC, SS, portable long service leave, child support, workers compensation claims, separation certificates and novated leases.
  • Assist, when required, with the ATO in collaboration with external Accountants in relation to ITX, BAS, FBT, PAYG, SGC and Payroll Tax.
  • Assist, when required, with bank reconciliations, Eastern Guruma banking arrangements and bank accounts, and development of budgets and 3-way financial forecasts.
  • Comply with statutory obligations and accredited systems as well as company policy and procedures for all administration undertakings.
  • Assist, when required, with HR and IR matters, as well as performance appraisals, recruitment, and professional development for Eastern Guruma Administration.
  • Assist, when required, with QMS, OHS and ENV matters, as well as process improvements, controlled document and procedure reviews and audit process participation for Eastern Guruma Administration.
  • Assist, as required and/or directed, with any other activities within your remit and skills, qualifications, competencies and experience base.

The ideal Candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as an Accounts and Payroll Officer with a successful SME - preferably in the mining, civil, services and indigenous business arena.
  • Commensurate experience and possession of a diploma in payroll services, or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the autonomous operation of payroll, accounts payable/receivable and general business administration processes.
  • Preferred past experience with MYOB EXO, WageEasy and Microsoft Applications, particularly intermediate or advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven high level customer and supplier relations management skills.
  • Business administration skills, strong facilitation and negotiation skills with proven contract management and dispute resolution experience, knowledge and skills as well as proven organisational communication skills.
