The Role

Reporting to the HRD, you will take the reins of payroll and drive an autonomous function. You will provide support to Finance and HR as a subject matter expert on all things payroll and help provide some strategic direction to the function.

Duties will include

  • Overseeing the end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 500 staff;
  • Oversee and manage the integrity of the T&A and payroll systems;
  • Work to continuously improve payroll systems, processes, procedures and end-user experience;
  • Oversee payroll audit and compliance requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with the changing legislative landscape;
  • Drive the month-end obligations relating to payroll including Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Workers Compensation etc; and
  • Liaise with senior leaders across HR, Finance and Technology.

Your Background

  • We are seeking a subject matter expert on payroll and someone who is comfortable working in a standalone role. You will need to be energetic and self-motivated;
  • Experience with managing month-end and year-end payroll processes;
  • Experience managing bonus and commission structures and worked with salary packaging providers;
  • Understanding global mobility and moving staff in and out of the country (for when this picks back up);
  • You will be curious and always questioning processes and looking for more efficient ways of working;
  • Strong attention to detail is a no-brainer;
  • Strong interpersonal skills are 100% essential as payroll here is a true business partnering function; and
  • Systems: Not fussed on your systems experience, we're hiring on culture fit, and the right candidate should be a quick study on any platform.
