Due to the ongoing growth of our Tier 2 civil construction company we are currently seeking an skilled Payroll Officer to join our successful team in the Allroads Head Office in Larapinta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of Payroll responsibilities for approximately 200 staff across the civil and mining sectors and will demonstrate a strong level of experience with 

  • Working in a high volume, moderately complex, hands on, end to end payroll 
  • Experience with Jobpac payroll system - This is highly desired although not essential 
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply employment legislation including Fair Work, Modern Awards and Enterprise Bargaining/Collective agreements
  • Sound keyboard skills and experience in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Effective time management and organisational skills together with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
  • A background in the construction industry -  This is highly desired although not essential 

With the ability to hit the ground running your responsibilities will include 

  • Accurate and timely end-to-end processing of fortnightly (Award & EBA) & monthly (salaried) payroll
  • Interpreting awards and contracts to ensure legislative compliance and requirements (Tax compliance, superannuation etc.);
  • Manage calculations and reporting for entitlements such as  parental, long service, annual and personal leaves.
  • Monthly PAYG Payments
  • Collate, manage and allocate internal labour for job costing
  • Manage the data entry for new starters, employee changes and terminations
  • Reconciliation of superannuation, payroll tax and Worker's Compensation
  • Assisting with payroll queries and enquiries as required
  • Assist with general HR related administration as required
