About the Opportunity

This is a permanent full-time position based in our Wodonga office in regional North-East Victoria.

As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the confidential administration and execution of the Company's weekly payroll process. With previous experience in payroll and preferably in the transport industry (although not essential), you will ensure that all employees are paid on time and in full, with responsibilities including:

  • Provide high volume end-to-end payroll processing in HR3, payments, reconciliations and associated reporting to key stakeholders, including the ATO and state-based Revenue Offices.
  • Process and administer employee files, timesheets, new starters, departures and transfers.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, awards and agreements. 
  • Undertake payroll projects as required and maintaining effective, efficient and best practice solutions within the Payroll Function.
  • Ensure pay slips are distributed on the day of processing, along with any Company memos which need to be circulated.

Your skills and experience include:

Minimum 3-5 years' payroll experience (transport industry experience is preferable but not essential)

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office package, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail and focus on customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills to people of all levels and an ability to build relationships.
  • A positive "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to think, adapt and learn in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Thorough understanding of task allocation and co-ordination,
  • Be familiar with the current ATO's Single Touch Payroll guidelines and SGC Compliance updates.
