Liberty Primary Steel, a member of GFG Alliance, operates integrated steelworks which include ironmaking, steel making, and rolling-mill facilities located in coastal Whyalla, approximately 400km from Adelaide.

About the role
Based in either our Newcastle (Mayfield) or Melbourne (Sunshine) locations, you will be reporting to the SAP team leader, the full time ADP Payroll Officer will be responsible for :

  • Perform fortnightly payroll duties
  • Liase with HR and REM team, managers and employees, assist with daily enquiries
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Analyse and process timesheets for multiple locations across Australia
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and awards, EBA and site specific rules
  • Understand taxation of employer paid benefits, Payroll Tax and PAYG
  • Managing new starters and terminations
  • Generating fortnightly and monthly financial reporting

 

About your experience
Ideally you have had previous experience in a similar payroll function and have managed an end to end payroll process.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in end to end payroll management
  • Proficiency with with ADP systems, some knowledge of SAP advantageous
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and able to generate financial reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to uphold compliance standards
