IFYS has the opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join the Maroochydore Finance Team in a permanent full-time capacity.

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the daily processing and recording of payroll and associated functions, in a timely and accurate manner. This role will also provide assistance to the Accountant in other day-to-day and monthly functions of accounting.

Key Accountabilities of the Payroll Officer:

  • Timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll including salary packaging, leave management and superannuation. Ensure leave accruals are updated fortnightly
  • Reconcile and process STP fortnightly reporting requirements
  • Ensure employee payroll details, bank details, deductions and allowances are accurate and up to date
  • Respond to staff requests for information regarding pay details and leave
  • Reconcile and process payment of employer PAYG and superannuation contributions, as per statutory requirements
  • Prepare calculations and payments for Back pays, Terminations and Redundancies
  • Assist with Workers Compensation processes and annual reporting
  • Complete monthly payroll and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist Accountant with finance tasks and year-end payroll audit tasks

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar Payroll Officer role
  • Diploma of Accounting highly desirable
  • Experience in a multiple cost centre environment desirable
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer based skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstrated intermediate skill using Microsoft Excel highly regarded
  • The ability to build and maintain strong connections with key stakeholders
