The main responsibility is to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time each fortnight, for both the Ministry and Judiciary.  You will look after a portfolio and manage employee changes from processing new employees right through to final pays and queries, in an efficient and professional manner.

Mō te tīma/About our Team

At Tāhū o te Ture - the Ministry of Justice, we're committed to working together for a fair and safe Aotearoa.

It is an exciting time to join us. We are leading the transformation of our criminal justice system, helping to tackle New Zealand's high levels of family violence and sexual violence, and improving New Zealanders' access to justice.

The payroll team is part of finance and you will work closely with our people and experience team.  Finance leads the design, development and delivery of effective financial strategies, policies, systems and management aligned to the Ministry's strategic direction. The team enables the Ministry to meet its financial reporting and taxation requirements, provide payroll, employee data, and financial transaction processing.

Joining the Ministry of Justice means you will become part of an inclusive organisation that values you and the communities we serve. It's our promise to ensure our workplace is one where our people feel healthy and safe, supported and able to be themselves at work. We value respect as the foundation for building a positive workplace culture and one where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.
