We are looking for a Project Manager superstar to drive new product development (NPD) and product reformulation to meet the growing needs of our business. This position is both strategic and hands on, and requires a customer centric, data driven and collaborative focused approach. We want a team player to join our passionate, high performing marketing team, as we grow the Flavour Creations product offering locally and internationally, positioning us as a global leader in nutrition.

 

About the Role

Project Manager – Product Development is a newly created autonomous role responsible for the management and co-ordination of our product innovation process called PIPE. This role will impact the organisation by managing all projects through the entire Product Life Cycle, from inception, planning, execution/production, monitoring, control and closure. Achieving this with collaboration with Research & Development, Sales & Marketing, Production, Quality and other cross-functional teams to develop new and reengineered products, delivery of all project milestones with quality, on time and within budget.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, with a direct line to the CEO, you will also take ownership of the day to day management of specialist nutrition brand(s). Working closely with Head of Marketing to develop strategy, and execute marketing activity in the hospital, aged care, pharmaceutical and community channels.

To be successful, you will have a self-starter, go-getter attitude, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You will be passionate, engaging and an empathetic leader that can build strong competency and capability in your discipline, focused on process and delivery. Ideally, you will have expertise across many product ranges including texture modified, nutritional powders, desserts, frozen meals, to name a few. Have a demonstrated style that includes a high sense of urgency, ability to think analytically, and the ability to take thoughtful risks.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage PIPE projects using best practice project management methodologies.
  • Review project scope; develop project management plan and follow through execution.
  • Develop detailed project schedule outlining agreed milestones with key stakeholders.
  • Develop project and marketing campaign cost estimations, and champion the cost management and deliver ROI.
  • Monitor and control projects to ensure delivery on time, cost and quality.
  • Manage project tasks, issues and risks, escalating to key stakeholders as needed.
  • Use appropriate tools and communications mediums to conduct project communications.
  • Conduct regular project checkpoint meetings and follow up with appropriate reporting.
  • Provide timely reports on the project health (time, cost, issues/risks).
  • Capture lessons learned, conduct project handover and other tasks to ensure proper closure of projects.
  • Contribute to the development of annual brand plans and strategy in line with our global ambitions.
  • Develop multi-channel communication plans for business, consumers and healthcare professionals.
  • Work in partnership with sales and marketing to analyse sales and marketing activities, to deliver insight to inform strategic decisions to support product growth and new product development.

 

Skills and experience required for the role:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Business, Project Management, Marketing, Nutrition)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on project management experience,
  • Be able to run sizeable projects and work streams from concept to delivery, liaising with cross-functional teams.
  • Fantastic project management and marketing experience, working in food, medical nutrition, FMCG or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Be able to demonstrate great analytical skills and a strategic mind-set.
  • Exposure to digital marketing and use of multi channels communication to reach customers
  • Demonstrated excellent communications & stakeholder management skills.
  • Independent and adaptable in a fast-paced environment to work on time critical projects.
  • Proficient with MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in both domestic and export markets is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills across all levels.
  • A drive to succeed within a supportive, team-based environment.
  • High level of intuition, ownership and accountability.
