What you'll be doing

The ED avoidance Project Officer will develop and implement the district wide ED avoidance strategy for mental health, in accordance with the Towards Zero Suicides Initiative in partnership with the Districts Towards Zero Suicide team.

Selection Criteria:

  1. A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Demonstrated skills and experience in the delivery of projects including demonstrated experience of the utilisation (and implementation) of the principles of codesign and coproduction.
  3. Demonstrated experience working within mental health, with a clear understanding of mental health reform, the Living Well Strategic Plan for mental health in NSW 2014-2024 and the Towards Zero Suicides Initiative 2019-2023.
  4. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and competently manage the demands of a complex and diverse team.
  5. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of health projects including interrelation between models of care, contemporaneous evidence base, innovation and relevant policies and procedures.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, clinicians, and other relevant stakeholders.
  7. Proven ability to engage meaningfully with communities in order to improve health and wellbeing.
  8. Evidence of a current unrestricted driver’s licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
