Rates Officer

About the role

In this role you will be joining small close-knit teams and assisting them with the full Rates function while lending a hand to other members of the finance and admin team when required. You will be a proactive and organised individual with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. These will be busy and challenging roles suited to a confident Rates Officers. We are also open to receiving applications from experienced Accounts Receivable professionals who feel they have relevant transferable skills and an interest in getting into Rates Administration.

Key responsibilities:

• Interpret and apply Local Government legislation to ensure compliance of rating service function
• Debt recovery/collections of payments
• Take customer quires and liaise with stakeholders
• Manage and analyse data
• Relationship management, negotiation, consultation, teamwork & communication
• Ad Hoc administrative duties

To be successful in this role you will:

• Demonstrated application of analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated well-developed written and oral communication skills, with particular emphasis on attention to detail
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel and Word skills
