Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the position of Rates Officer, during a period of Maternity Leave.

The successful applicant will display excellent customer service, numerical and administration skills and will assist in all aspects of the rating functions of the Shire.

Position Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need the following:

  • Proven experience in a finance, administration or customer service related role.
  • Demonstrated high level customer service, internal and external.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in collection of monies and accounts receivable functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to solve problems through discussion, negotiation and teamwork.
  • High level of literacy, numeracy and computer skills including ability to work with spreadsheets.
  • Strong personal organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.


Benefits

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government Officers’ (WA) Interim Award 2011 with a salary payable between Level 3 ($57,558) and Level 4 ($65,436) per annum, depending on qualifications and experience and benefits such as:

  • Superannuation of 9.50% occupational superannuation from date of commencement, with an opportunity that the Shire will match an employee’s voluntary contribution to their nominated plan provided that employee contributes an amount of at least 5% and/or 6% of their own salary.
  • Full-time position, 8.00am to 4.30pm located at the Harvey Administration Building.
  • Four weeks paid annual leave, including a 17½% leave loading.
  • One rostered day off is available after every nineteen working days.  Rostered days off cannot be accumulated.
