Senior Accountant

We are an Australasian based company seeking a full time Senior Accountant to join our team. 

This role will be on a full-time basis at our Brisbane office. As a trusted member of the finance team, you will be responsible for the full end-to-end accounting function supporting the CFO. You will ensure that all historical information is reported in a timely and accurate manner to the intended end users, ensure the integrity of all information, systems and procedures around the general ledger and sub-ledgers of the group and/or business units. You will be responsible for:

• Fully reconciling and closing all relevant balance sheet accounts and ensuring adjustments and journal corrections are posted on time
• Incorporating updated budget information into monthly reports 
• Updating the monthly business unit or division forecasts taking input from relevant parties
• Timely and accurate management of all accounts held within the balance sheet
• Ensuring the integrity of all finance information systems essential to the department
• Managing cash flow tracking and ensuring all material cash movements are recorded in the forecast
• Ensuring all statutory payments are set up and reflected accurately
• Developing and maintaining analytical reporting models and providing clear and concise commentary 
• Completing the annual financial statements for review and submission to Auditors
• Ensuring BAS and IAS are submitted in a timely and accurate manner 
• Being an authorised officer of the business with the ATO and IRD (NZ) and maintaining contact with these regulatory bodies in regards to statutory obligations
• Being the main point of contact on general financial accounting matters with key stakeholders.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

• Proven experience in a finance team in a similar role within a mid-tier firm
• Finance/Accounting degree or equivalent
• CA / CPA an advantage
• Xero / SAP B1 or similar systems experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency is essential
• An aptitude for working with numbers and a keen eye for detail with high level of accuracy 
• Possess strong organisational and time management expertise
