Senior Accountant/Finance Business Partner

About the role
We are looking for a progressive Senior Accountant/Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team.
This full-time, ongoing role is based at our head office in Geelong, but remote working arrangements are available.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role has a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Partnering with business units to review, interpret and present monthly financial results, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, delivering commercial insights and recommendations to drive business decision making;
- Preparing weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders;
- Daily cash flow forecasting and management;
- Management of capital budget, equipment finance and fixed asset records;
- Management of annual statutory financial audit and tax compliance process;
- Processing financial transactions (including end of month journals);
- Continuous improvement of internal processes and policies to increase efficiency and achieve optimal partnership between stakeholders;
- Leading assigned business projects.
About you
We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic and forward-thinking person who meets the following key selection criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business who holds CA/CPA status (or equivalent) with more than 6 years’ experience in financial or management accounting;
- A high level of attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Strong customer focus and the ability to build cross functional relationships and collaborate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders;
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of accounting standards;
- Excellent communication skills to deliver data and insights tailored to the audience, including those of a non-financial background;
- Proven experience in mentoring others (both with financial and non-financial backgrounds);
- A continuous improvement mindset.
While not essential, the following experience will be highly regarded:
- Public practice experience in Big 4 or middle-tier audit and accounting firm;
- Transport/logistics industry (or similar) experience;
- Demonstrated systems implementation/project management experience;
- Any relevant specialist technical expertise (eg. advanced user of Excel/VBA, basic familiarity with SQL/relational databases, etc.).
