We have an exciting opportunity for Senior Associates to join our Transaction Advisory Services team in Sydney. Transaction Advisory Services forms part of the broader Corporate Finance team of 30 team members including 8 Partners/Principals dedicated to Transaction Advisory Services, Valuations, M&A Lead Advisory and Financial Modelling. In this role you will be responsible for conducting all phases of Financial Due Diligence on M&A transactions and Investigating Accountant engagements on stock exchange listings across a mixture of industries.

You will have circa 3 years’ or so experience, coming from a strong Audit or Accounting background with a thorough understanding of financial statements and preferably CA or equivalent qualified.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Managers and Partners in the performance of (buy-side and sell-side) due diligence on M&A transactions, IPO assignments (as Investigating Accountants) and other ad hoc advisory projects as required for private equity and corporate clients
• Assist in/undertake the planning of assignments, including identifying engagement risk, and in that environment, determining the appropriate strategy in conjunction with the Managers and Partners
• Review and interpret financial statements and other financial data
• Prepare and review detailed financial analysis to illustrate key business drivers and performance indicators
• Participate in question & answer sessions with target businesses and their advisors
• Draft comprehensive and succinct due diligence reports
• Ensure time and budgetary constraints are met

Skills and experience 

• University degree
• CA or equivalent qualification preferred
• Circa 3 years’ or so Audit/Accounting experience
• Excellent oral and written English language skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
• Strong Excel skillset and competent in PowerPoint;
• Proven problem-solving and logical reasoning skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• A broad cross section of industry experience

The annual salary range for this role will be AUD$75,000 - $95,000 inclusive of superannuation, commensurate with experience.
