We are in search of a diligent, resourceful, pragmatic and hands-on Senior FP&A Analyst to join our small team on a part-time basis, reporting to the Executive General Manager.

 

--- Your Responsibilities --- 

In this role, the Senior FP&A Analyst will cultivate transparency and financial rigor to drive business performance, predictability and efficiency. They will create and manage budgets, deliver insightful financial reports, perform detailed financial analysis, implement controls and provide oversight. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the Senior FP&A Analyst will be instrumental in driving transformation, accountability and efficiency. Specifically, the role will:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process along with periodic reforecasts to drive predictable outcomes
  • Create financial reports and supplemental commentary to cultivate a high degree of transparency
  • Undertake routine and ad hoc analysis of commercial and operational performance to derive insights, identify opportunity and risk, and drive robust decision making
  • Support senior leadership with both financial and commercial analysis to inform all manner of commercial decision making
  • Design, implement and provide oversight of financial controls to enable disciplined spending decisions while also reducing operating friction
  • Provide oversight of AP and AR related processes and resulting cashflow projections
  • Reconcile transactions in Xero to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial reports
  • Prepare reports and document necessary to support grant applications
  • Liaise with external accounting firm to complete statutory and tax filings

 

--- Your Skills & Experience --- 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering financial reports and analysis to enable robust decision making and transparency
  • Extensive experience creating and managing budgets and providing financial oversight to improve financial outcomes
  • Proficient user of Xero or equivalent, advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous success working in in technology start-up environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Curious, pro-active, pragmatic mindset
  • Ability to diplomatically challenge the status quo
