INPEX is currently looking for a Senior JV Accountant to join our Perth based Finance team.

The purpose of this role is to provide joint venture accounting advice in line with INPEX’s accounting policies and principles with the aim of ensuring effective legal compliance is achieved for all company and Joint Venture (JV) agreements. This role will see you build positive relationships within INPEX and with Joint Venture Participants to improve the recording of the business transactions being undertaken in each company/JV.

Key functions of the role include:

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.
  • Implement INPEX accounting policies and principles and ensure effective legal compliance is achieved for all companies/JVs.
  • Produce timely and accurate JV Accounting outputs for JV Participants (JVPs) of Operated ventures
  • Period close activities as required
  • Receive and coordinate the input of non-operated venture activities
  • Coordinate JSOX and Independent audits
  • Participate in Operated and non-operated Audits on the above projects/JV
  • Accountable for the register of JV agreements
  • Work with the Finance and Tax sub-committee to resolve JV accounting queries, help coordinate the conduct of the meeting at least half-yearly

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting is essential along with a CPA/CA (or similar international recognition)
  • You must have demonstrable experience as a costing/management accountant in diverse working environments, which should include exposure to Oil & Gas, Exploration & Production Operations and Projects. 
  • A strong finance process orientation background, with a demonstrated ability to work in complex businesses and an ability to work across multiple geographies and cultures is essential for success in this role.  This should include working closely with financial or joint venture accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated technical skills in Joint Venture Accounting Module of SAP-ECC
  • Experience with a large ERP system highly regarded (e.g. FI, CO PS modules with some knowledge of MM, PM, BW)
  • Has a commitment to collaboration and to teamwork
