Title: Senior Payroll Officer
Company Name: black market
Job Location: Perth, Eastern Suburbs
Employment Status: Full Time
High profile mining services company in the Eastern suburbs of Perth with a multi service product base, powerful hands-on leadership and a clear target of growth.
Do you consider yourself an end-to-end expert in Payroll now that you’ve lead payroll in a 2000 employees plus environment, streamlined and automated manual handling to the point that your day to day role now is focussed on proactive strategies of team member support? Or do you want to be that person?
This CFO NEEDS YOU!
This is a permanent appointment for a Senior Payroll Officer so you will get to own the improvements you have made and run this function to the efficiencies you like.
There is no management of people; yet. You own this and when you’ve taken the systems, process, procedures and payroll processing manual to a certain point defined by you and in partnership with the head of corporate services and the CFO, you’ll hire a support team member to train and share your knowledge so you can progress in your career developments.
Described very aptly this week as; build the plane whilst you’re flying it.
Your starting day to day will look like this:
Onshore payroll processing for over 1500 employees on a fortnightly basis
(International processing will come under your remit in time)
e-timesheet into ERP error handling
Lead point of contact on payroll queries
Reporting into the financial accounting team for payroll accounting treatments
Prepare and reconcile all tax compliance and superannuation obligations
Oversight to Award and Employment Contract correct payments
As you know, running a payroll of 1500+ fortnightly requires energy, passion, a thirst for automation and improvement and a self-motivated style of getting it done whilst partnering with the business wherever queries arise.
Communication is critical – both written and verbal – you are the face and voice of the finance team when operations need you the most.
Now for the cool stuff:
Major focus of transformational change of systems, process, procedures, manuals and automation.
Lead the way in constructing a payroll process that hums with a few squeaks but available focus to solve them with a smile.
Hire a team member to train and mentor.
You are an experienced payroll officer looking to lead and use that wealth of energy and knowledge to shine a beacon on how this should be done. You’ll have spent several years in payroll in a few companies to see how others do it, take the best of it, mesh in systems and automation checks and balances and key this permanent career progression role as a Key Achievement in your building career as a Payroll professional.
A supportive and powerful peer team and Board will show you the way – bring your A game.
