We are going through a period of exciting change after a large acquisition and with a new CEO at the helm, and are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join us on this journey.  This role will have a focus on reviewing and improving payroll and audit processes, streamlining separate or duplicated processes, as well as consulting with and training managers across our geographically dispersed business. You will need to demonstrate your experience in project management and process improvement and your service-focused attitude. We are seeking a project-focused payroll officer with the confidence and demeanour to engage with the wider business to bring positive change to our payroll function.

This is a complex payroll position, working with various individual business entities and inconsistent terms and conditions.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience in processing end to end payroll in a complex environment, specifically via a time and attendance system across multiple entities with different rule sets,
  • Strong project, process improvement, auditing and training experience,
  • Experience in New Zealand payroll, including calculations under the Holidays Act, as well as Australian payroll would be an advantage,
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Strong Excel skills,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and relationship-building skills,
  • A customer service-focused, self-directed and responsible attitude, with respect for the privacy and sensitivity of the data we are entrusted with, and
  • Experience with HR3 and/or Emplive would be an advantage but not essential.
