About Us

The Lost Dogs’ Home cares for around 20,000 lost and abandoned dogs and cats every year and is Australia’s largest animal shelter. We provide a wide range of animal welfare and community programs and services.  We are a voice for Australia’s unwanted, stray, and lost dogs and cats.  The Lost Dogs’ Home plays a crucial role in the promotion of responsible pet ownership programs and we are a leader in our community helping re-home abandoned and stray animals with our successful foster and adoption programs.
  

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional that has substantial expertise with Technology One payroll for a Full Time 12-month contract. 

You will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll function on a standalone and hands on basis ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the fortnightly payroll.

In addition, you will work collaboratively with the Director Finance & Accounting and Director People & Culture to drive improvements in payroll policy, procedures, and the standardisation of payroll operating practices. 

Critical to this position is your ability to foster a customer focus in your dealings with people and to deliver payroll practice improvements along with enhancements to the rostering and attendance system.   

Note: LDH will consider candidates interested in flexible working arrangements including the option of a 9-day fortnight. 

About You

  • A high performing payroll professional with extensive, demonstrated and hands on experience across the full payroll cycle.
  • Strong technical expertise with Technology One is essential as is your demonstrated ability to provide clear and relevant advice in respect to Technology One system configuration.
  • Able to coach people managers with respect to accurate rostering processes and to guide them with respect to payroll procedures and practices. 
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to interpret industrial instruments.
  • A focus and commitment to improving payroll compliance outcomes and employee/customer experience.
