PAYROLL OFFICERS

Are you an experienced payroll officer looking for your next challenge?

 

Working as part of a large team, you will be an essential 'hands-on' resource responsible for maintaining service standards through the timely and accurate transaction of various payroll services. 

 

About You

 

We deliver a weekly payroll for more than 4,000 employees, and as a team of fifteen, we process up to 1500 manual timesheets per week under a Certified Agreement and 23 Local Area Agreements, so you will need to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging industrial environment. We are seeking the following skills, attributes and experience:

 

• Payroll experience in a medium to large organisation
• Experience using chris21/ichris is highly desirable
• Conversance and competence in interpreting complex industrial frameworks
• Resilience under pressure to meet tight deadlines with conflicting priorities
• Passion for delivering quality services and outcomes
• Employee experience focused
  

About the talent pool

We are establishing a talent pool of Payroll Officers to be considered for future casual and fixed-term vacancies within the City of Gold Coast. These assignments can be of varied length depending on operational requirements.

Key activities of the position

• Timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll services
• Interpretation and application of multiple industrial instruments
• Processing new employment details and termination requests within strict timeframes
• Utilising a variety of software systems and programs
• Resolving queries in a timely manner

The Selection Process

 

As part of our selection process, you may be required to undertake a one-way video interview via SparkHire, and a face to face interview or virtual interview via Microsoft Teams or Skype as well as other technical assessments. You may also be required to undertake police checks, employment history checks, qualification checks and drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Australian Standards and Council's procedures.
