The Opportunity
We’re on a journey at Woolworths to transform and revitalise our payroll function. Working in a close-knit and passionate team we’re looking for a Payroll Team Leader to join us as we move to a new way of working through a period of significant investment in our payroll system and services. With a strong focus on people productivity and service excellence, this role will build, coach and develop a customer-oriented team whilst continually identifying ways to enhance service quality for the business.

Your key role responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day operational delivery of an end to end payroll service including pay runs, periodic & year end reporting
  • Building team capability, driving high performance and coaching team members in achieving high quality service outcomes 
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities through monitoring service performance and employee data analytics
  • Facilitate and manage internal, external and third party relationships
  • Support the implementation of key system requirements and ongoing programme of payroll improvement activity in process, people & system changes.
     

What do you need to succeed?

  • We’re looking for a proven payroll leader who is focussed on service delivery. You’ll have both strong technical and leadership skills as well as demonstrating;
  • Solid experience leading payroll teams in large and complex organisations
  • Experience in the management of high quality Payroll / HR Service
  • The ability to deliver service improvements across people, technology and process
  • Technical expertise with SAP / SuccessFactors /Kronos is highly desirable
  • Experience in incident and problem management in a services environment
  • The ability to coach, develop and lead team members through change
